How does the type of online peer feedback influence feedback quality, argumentative essay writing quality, and domain-specific learning?

This study explored the effects of directed and undirected online peer feedback types on students’ performance, argumentative essay writing skills, acquisition domain-specific knowledge. The used a pre-test post-test design with four conditions (feedback, feedforward, combination feedback). In this exploratory study, 221 undergraduate students, who were randomly assigned to dyads, engaged in discussions about pros cons “Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)”, provided peers, wrote an regarding topic. Results indicated significant differences among terms quality feedback. implies that can be enhanced or diminished depending its type. also revealed improvement performance knowledge without conditions. We discuss how such increase essays learning outcomes might related power regardless why using multiple instructional scaffolds may result over-scripting diminish themselves environments.
